The Trial was never made. The basic premise of The Trial was that the Tallest have moved up Zim's examination day - the day when the Irken's life is judged to see if that specific individual is defective or not. The Tallest were certain that once Zim's exploits were made known to the control brains that Zim would be ruled defective and immediately deactivated.

During the trial we get to see Zim's sordid past, including his role causing Horrible Painful Overload Day (and Horrible Painful Overload Day 2), ruining Operation Impending Doom and inadvertantly killing Almighty Tallest Miyuki and Spork with his infinite energy absorbing creature. The control brains decide to deactivate Zim and to erase him memory from the collective, but the sheer insanity of Zim's past causes them to go insane when they attempt to reprogram his Pak.

I really wish that this episode had been made. I'd love to see the exploits of Smeet Zim destroying Irk and setting the Irken society back decades.
